What to actually say on your trade website (without sounding like a brochure)
A simple structure for the words on your homepage that works for plumbers, sparkies, builders and more.
The biggest mistake on most trade websites is trying to sound like a big corporate. You don't have to. People are looking for someone who sounds like they'd actually show up — so sound like that.
Start with the job they're trying to do
Open the page with the problem you solve. "Hot water gone cold? We'll be there today." beats "Welcome to ABC Plumbing, your trusted partner in plumbing solutions" every single time.
Tell them where you work
People want to know they're calling the right person for their suburb. Name your towns and regions. It also helps you show up in local Google searches.
Show, don't sell
Phone photos of finished work beat stock photos and adjectives. "Replaced this 30-year-old cylinder in Mount Eden last week" is the kind of detail that earns trust.
