Website Design Process for NZ Tradies

The full website process follows seven stages:

Each stage has a clear purpose. You do not need every answer in the first message. Some decisions can come later.

We start with enough information to understand the real business.

We prepare a working homepage direction. It uses the business details you supplied.

The preview gives you something practical to assess. You can check the layout, words, services, areas, and contact path. You can review it on a phone or larger screen.

The preview is not the complete website. It shows the first-page direction. You use it to decide whether the wider project should continue.

Viewing the preview does not require a deposit. The full paid build does not start at this stage.

The preview creates a decision point before the full website build.

If the direction is not right, you can stop. Paid work does not need to begin.

If you move ahead, that direction guides the wider website.

We then decide which pages the site needs. We also agree on what each page should cover.

We also mark work that sits outside the website build.

Before paid work starts, we confirm the website scope. We also confirm the fixed build quote.

The scope can cover:

The page list should fit the real business. We do not add pages just to make the project look larger.

The Website Packages page shows the current build starting points. The final fixed quote follows the agreed scope. The package name alone does not set the price.

Once we agree on both, we start the paid website build.

The build follows the approved direction and page list. You can review the agreed pages and flag corrections before launch.

Changes inside the agreed scope stay part of that build.

A new page or feature may sit outside the scope. We explain the extra work and price before it starts.

This keeps the quote tied to the work we agreed on.

We check the site before it goes live.

Launch checks cover the agreed pages and the main customer paths. That includes mobile layout, key links, and contact forms. It also covers the domain connection.

You get a final review before the new site goes live. The current live version is not replaced early.

Already have a website? It can normally stay live during the build.

We do not replace it early. We can agree on a different setup if needed.

After launch, the website moves into handover.

The business should keep control of its domain. Approved content should stay under its control too.

The same applies to supplied business assets. We hand over the finished website under the agreed arrangement.

Standard hosting and SSL are part of the current website-build offer. Domain registration and business email remain separate costs.

You do not need to decide on future additions at launch. We can scope new pages later. The same applies to other agreed work.

We handle the agreed website work. You do not need to manage the technical build.

We can review useful text, photos, and contact details first. We can also check other business material before replacing it.

We can keep good material when it still fits the business.

The existing site can normally stay live. It does not need to change until you approve the new site.

An old site may need a rebuild rather than a new-site process. In that case, Website Upgrade may fit better.

Feedback is easier to manage when it matches the agreed stage.

You review the homepage direction before the full build. You then review the agreed website pages before launch.

Corrections inside the approved scope remain part of the build. We separate work outside that scope and quote it before it starts.

This keeps the agreed project from quietly becoming a different job.

Launch is not the first time you see the finished website.

You can review the agreed pages before we connect the domain. You can also check the main contact paths.

We correct agreed issues before we finish the launch step.

We also check the mobile layout and links. We check forms in the scope too.

After approval, we connect the domain. We then hand over the finished website.
